Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) is a place-based framework that can help build strong, safe, and healthy neighborhoods and communities. By bringing the community together and focusing on the gifts within, ABCD helps residents, associations, nonprofits, government, and the business community, to act collectively as co-producers of their community’s well-being.

The Association of Idaho Cities is a nonpartisan, nonprofit corporation, owned, organized, and operated by Idaho's city governments. AIC provides services that individual cities might not be able to afford on their own. Availabe on AIC's website are resources and instructions regarding planning, zoning, elections training & more.

The Association of Idaho Counties is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to the improvement of Idaho county government. IAC seeks to provide services, research, uniformity and coordination among member counties, in order for the county elected officials to serve their constituents better.

The Wyoming Business Council provides the Business Ready Community Grant & Loan Program, a program that provides financing for publicly owned infrastructure that serves the needs of businesses and promotes economic development within Wyoming communities. Cities, towns, counties and joint powers boards are the primary applicants for this program. State and local community development organizations can assist and provide project management development under contract to the primary applicant.

Butte CPR provides grants to improve buildings, educational tours, lectures, preservation workshops, and other events, liaison with local government, business, and civic organizations, and the labor to restore, renovate and salvage historical buildings in the nation's largest National Historic Landmark District.

Clear Water Economic Development Association (CEDA) drives regional development and works with community leaders to build community assets and wealth within the Idaho counties of Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis, and Nez Perce. CEDA's services are characterized under three development areas: business, community, and regional.

The Development Company, also known as East-Central Idaho Planning & Development Association (ECIPDA), is an economic development organization that serves Eastern Idaho by providing small business loans, workforce development programs, and project financing and administration services for municipalities.

As the only federal government agency focused exclusively on economic development, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) plays a critical role in facilitating regional economic development efforts in communities across the nation.

Guided by the basic principle that sustainable economic development should be locally-driven, EDA works directly with communities and regions to help them build the capacity for economic development based on local business conditions and needs. EDA’s grant investments in planning, technical assistance, and infrastructure construction are designed to leverage existing regional assets to support the implementation of economic development strategies that make it easier for businesses to start and grow.

EDA’s flexible programs and structure enable nimble operations and allow for innovation and responsiveness to changing economic needs and conditions faced by its local and state government partners. Grants made under these programs are designed to leverage existing regional assets to support the implementation of economic development strategies that advance new ideas and creative approaches to advance economic prosperity in distressed communities.

EDA provides economic development financial assistance to communities so they can encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in a way that works best for them. Through its network of regionally-based staff and portfolio of flexible grant tools, EDA helps communities experiencing economic distress, take control of their future and position themselves for economic prosperity and resiliency.

In addition, EDA leads the integration of economic development resources from all sources, including federal, state, local and philanthropic, to achieve better outcomes for communities across America.

Through strategic investments that foster job creation and attract private investment, EDA supports development in economically distressed areas of the U.S.. EDA works directly with local economic development officials to make grant investments that are well-defined, timely, and linked to a long-term, sustainable economic development strategy.

FCEDA collaborates with corporate professionals, developers, local units of government, and community organizations to strengthen the Flathead’s business and lifestyle assets. As Flathead County’s economic development arm, FCEDA responsibly invests public funds into local projects that produce a strong return in job retention and creation, and in infrastructure that attracts or retains business. The FCEDA board is comprised of individuals possessing years of combined business and real estate experience with a track record of success in entrepreneurial endeavors.
