The American Community Survey (ACS) collects and provides data every year to help communities plan investments and services. It provides general demographic data, information about how people commute to work, general education levels, and more.

The American Fact Finder is similar to the Census site, but with more detailed analytical charts, graphs, and data sets. It provides comparative analysis of people, industry, and geographies; you can also compare this information to past census statistics.

Censusscope.org allows the user to search national, census-based demographic maps. Categories include population change, poverty, home ownership, racial variations, segregation, aging communities, dominant generations, etc. The site also provides print-friendly charts and trends for these statistics.

City-Data collects and analyzes data from a variety of government and private sources, and then create detailed, informative profiles for every city in the United States. Specific tools include: compare two cities, advances U.S. city search, ideal meeting place, travel time maps, and trip gasoline usage calculators.

Data.gov increases the ability of the public to easily find, download, and use datasets that are generated and held by the Federal Government. Data.gov provides descriptions of the Federal datasets (metadata), information about how to access the datasets, and tools that leverage government datasets.

The USDA's Economic Research Service (ERS) anticipates trends and emerging issues in agriculture, food, the environment, and rural America and to conduct high-quality, objective economic research to inform and enhance public and private decision making. ERS digitally publishes its research and analysis in economic research reports, articles in our award-winning Amber Waves magazine, and data products throughout the year.

The National Agricultural Statistical Service provides information on crops, plants, livestock, environmental concerns associated with agriculture, current research, and agricultural land use statistics.

Gem State Prospector, sponsored by the Idaho Department of Commerce, is an interactive tool which provides statistics to help you perform market comparisons and choose the optimal location for potential businesses. You can search for stats on every Idaho city, county, and region. Each report contains an interactive map of the community and data on its labor force, wages, education levels, demographics, and consumer expenditures.

Profiles contain tables and figures that illustrate long-term trends in population; employment and personal income by industry; average earnings; development; retirement and other non-labor income; commuting patterns; agriculture; and earnings by industry.
