The year-end omnibus legislation included several broadband and connectivity expansion bills. The following will be implemented by NTIA.

Three new grant programs:

1. Tribal BroadbandConnectivity Program. A $1 billion program directed to tribal governments to be used for broadband deployment on tribal lands, as well as for telehealth, distance learning, broadband affordability, and digital inclusion.

2. Broadband Infrastructure Program. A $300 million broadband deployment program directed to partnerships between a state, or one or more political subdivisions of a state, and providers of fixed broadband service to support broadband infrastructure deployment to areas lacking broadband, especially rural areas.

3. Connecting Minority Communities Pilot Program. A $285 million grant program to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), and Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) for the purchase of broadband internet access service and eligible equipment or to hire and train information technology personnel.

The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) is a politically objective supplier of trusted and statistically sound baseline, contextual, and trend information used to shape transportation policy, investments, and research across the U.S. and abroad. One is able to access both national and state transportation-related statistcal data through BTS.

The American Community Survey (ACS) collects and provides data every year to help communities plan investments and services. It provides general demographic data, information about how people commute to work, general education levels, and more.

The American Fact Finder is similar to the Census site, but with more detailed analytical charts, graphs, and data sets. It provides comparative analysis of people, industry, and geographies; you can also compare this information to past census statistics.

Censusscope.org allows the user to search national, census-based demographic maps. Categories include population change, poverty, home ownership, racial variations, segregation, aging communities, dominant generations, etc. The site also provides print-friendly charts and trends for these statistics.

The National Center for Health Statistics provides a complete source of information about America's health. The CDC compiles statistical information to guide health related programs and policies around the county.

The Center for Rural Entrepreneurship uses webinars, publications, and other tools to share timely information and best practices on a variety of topics related to economic development in rural communities.

The Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency (DSIRE) is a comprehensive source of information, hosted by the U.S. Department of Engery, on state, federal, local, and utility incentives and policies that support renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Data.gov increases the ability of the public to easily find, download, and use datasets that are generated and held by the Federal Government. Data.gov provides descriptions of the Federal datasets (metadata), information about how to access the datasets, and tools that leverage government datasets.

This section of the USDA website provides information on emergency health in rural communities. general assistance through federal, state programs and/or organizations in emergency medicine.
